Sunilda and Maria Luisa are an extremely talented mother-daughter duo. Sunilda has long been a part of One Thread Collective and has worked with our local partners, Fundación Talento Colectivo for many years. Sunilda lives in Samaria Mashi, a small ranchería (Indigenous community) in the city of Manure with her husband.
Sunilda introduced us to her daughter in 2021 who is supporting her husband and son while going back to high school to get her diploma. Maria Luisa commutes between their rural farm and the city of Riohacha, and sells her weavings to pay for her transportation and support her family.
